Westminster Apprenticeships Programme

How old do I need to be to get onto an apprenticeship?
The Westminster Apprenticeship Programme is for young people 16-24 years old. Other organisations do provide Young Apprenticeships (for 14-16 year-olds) as well as Apprenticeships for adults, and we may be able to help you find these opportunities.

Do I have to be from Westminster?
Afraid so – the Westminster Apprenticeship Programme aims to get young people living in Westminster into apprenticeships or work placements, though if you drop us a line we may be able to advise you of organisations in your borough that provide a similar service.

What qualifications or experience do I need?
Usually, to enter an apprenticeship you need to at least have NVQ Level 1 or above, as you will be training towards an NVQ Level 2 as part of an apprenticeship. To go for an advanced apprenticeship you need to be at Level 2 or above (5 GCSEs A-C or equivalent), as you will be training towards an NVQ Level 3. Most employers expect at least some experience in the work place before taking you on.
However, if you do not have these qualifications or experience, don’t worry, we can help you to get what you need to be ‘apprenticeship-ready’; whether its further training in an e2e or GCSEs, or experience in a work place, through volunteering or short-term e2e/work placements – get in contact and tell us what you need.

What is Vital Regenerations’ role?
We at Vital Regeneration act as the broker, finding the right training provider and employer for your apprenticeship. We do not provide the training or employment ourselves, but we will be on hand to support you throughout your apprenticeship should you need it. Connexions will also be on hand to support you through the apprenticeship, if you are between the age of 16-19.

What do I do next?
Simple – just drop us a line at the contact details below and we will set up a meeting between yourself and one of our advisors to go through what you’re interested in and where you want to go.
