Soho Young Designers present Toys to Timberland Boot Company

Active Graphics

Active Graphics engages young people through education and creativity. This term children from Soho Parish Primary School attended the 10 week project and 14 young designers took inspiration from fruits and nature to create some fantastic, imaginative hand crafted toys!  The toys were made from clay and hand painted by the young designers themselves.  Each toy has a character all of its own along with a story to accompany it.

On the 23rd November the young designers presented their hand crafted work to the Timberland Boot Company in Regents Street, London.

The children one by one displayed their work in a prominent area within the store.

Their amazing work will be exhibited in the Timberland Boot Company‘s Regents Street store until Friday 30th November.

Active Graphics is generously sponsored by the Timberland Boot Company and delivered by Vital Regeneration.

Term 3 of the Creative Schools projects came to a close with celebrations showcasing the work of the children on the projects.

Play Space Celebration

Celebration

‘Tablecloths, menus and napkins designed by the children.’

With their tutors Alison Lumb and Silvia Sacrestano, children at Wilberforce Primary and Edward Wilson Primary had the opening of their ‘Fruitylicious Café’. This was an event where the children served smoothies and salads to their friends and families. They also designed menus, napkins and tablecloths.

This project is funded by the Westminster City Partnership's, Health and Care Network.

In September 2007 Queen’s Park Primary School and Our Lady of Dolours Primary School will also be participating in the Play Space project.

Boot Buddies Picnic and Celebration

Emily and children

‘Pupils of Soho Parish School and their tutor artist Emily Clay presenting their Boot Buddies to the Timberland Boot Company store’

Emily Clay worked with the pupils of Soho Parish School to create ‘Boot Buddies’, small dolls with a healthy eating theme that could fit inside a Timberland boot. They went on a walk of their local area to get inspiration and design ideas for their Boot Buddy. The pupils also created an animation of their Boot Buddy. The Boot Buddies were then presented to the Timberland Boot Company story in Carnaby Street

In September 2007 the Soho Parish School Timberland Boot Company Project will be called Active Graphics and will involve practical art and computer graphics. This term they will be visiting the Regent Street Timberland store.

This project is funded by Timberland Boot Company.
