Apprenticeship Case Study - JR, 19 year old Female

JR was referred to Vital Apprenticeships from the Connexions One-Stop-Shop in Pimlico. At the time of her referral, she had no permanent address, and was frequently moving house.

On meeting with JR, our learning advisers found her to be an extremely determined and focused individual. She really wanted to take control of her situation and start laying strong foundations for her career. Her adviser helped her understand the career and training options available to her and they worked together to build an action plan that mapped out the best route towards the job she wanted.

Over a series of appointments the adviser helped JR with her CV writing and conducted mock interviews to polish her interview techniques. Once JR was ‘apprenticeship-ready’, our advisers forwarded her application for a Business Administration Apprenticeship position with Genesis Housing Group. She worked hard to prepare for the interview, and was successful in securing the position.

Within the first month of starting her new job, JR was enrolled with a training provider to start working towards an NVQ Level 3 qualification. With her hard work and dedication to the Apprenticeship program, JR completed her NVQ Level 3 qualifications 5 months before schedule, and decided to apply for a full time job at Genesis. Today JR is employed as a full time receptionist at Genesis Housing Group.
