On Saturday 29th March, Studio + and Street Experience – 2 innovative youth media projects - held a joint showcase and award ceremony at Hammersmith Town Hall. 150 guests experienced the music and films that groups of 12-19 year olds from Brent and Hammersmith & Fulham had produced across the lifetime of the projects.

25 Young film makers celebrated their achievements, receiving awards on the evening, including 4 for outstanding attendance. The 2 films produced ‘Don’t Get it Twisted’ and ‘Use Your head’ highlighted powerful issues which young people face as part of their everyday experiences including personal relationships and gang culture. 

Artists, Mysterious and Petoro performed a stirring act of their tune, 'On Dis Ting', which got the whole audience joining in and everyone loved the out-takes at the end of the films!

 

As well as a student award ceremony, there was a photo exhibition of the young people planning their live music event, 'Couture'. Guests also got to Bluetooth films to each other's phones and to experience all the Studio + compositions on wireless headphones.
